Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid’s smashing half-centuries helped India score a nine-run victory over England in the second one-day international, at the County Ground in Bristol, on Friday.
Batting first, India put up a huge 329 for 7 in their 50 overs and in reply England finished nine runs short, at 320 for 8, in a thrilling finish.
However, England’s Mascarenhas was probably the hero of the day who hit a delightful knock of 52 from 39 deliveries that included five sixes and a boundary. It was his knock that gave England it’s only chance to win.
India thus bounced back in style to level the seven-match series 1-1.
