Dream comeback for Pathan

IRFAN PATHAN made a dream come back to Indian team by virtue of his brilliant performance consistently in the tournament. He could not have got a better platform to prove his worth in the team .Once he was considered as the most talented all-rounder in India after Kapil Dev. But Irfan Pathan has seen it all in a short span his international career, to be dumped because of his bad form and skills that deserted him.

A score of 157 against Pakistan in the final of world cup final was never too easy to defend. When Pakistan started their proceedings with smashing Sreesanth out of the fence who conceived 21 runs in the first over, the match looked one-sided

The 22-year old came at a crucial stage to put his hand up once again, something he got accustomed of doing unfailingly in this tournament .He took 3 important wickets to put pressure on Pakistan .His first victim was rivals captain Shoib Malik .Capable turning around the match single handedly, Pathan delivered it short out-side the off stump, which Malik looped in the air to mid-wicket.

But the wicket that turned the match was of Shahid Afridi, whom he gave a slower delivery and he hit it high in the air but could not clear mid-off, on his very first delivery .Bowling with excellent variation and control, Pathan’s final wicket was Yasir Arafat who castled going for a big one.

For this performance he was declared man of the match .But more of his joy he is back to Indian side for a series against Australia.
