Laxman out of IPL
Deccan Chargers were dealt another blow to their already sagging IPL hopes as their unofficial icon and captain VVS Laxman was ruled out of the remaining matches of the tournament.
Laxman has a hairline fracture just below his right wrist and has already missed the last two matches due to the same reason. Now the injury has become more serious and after diagnosis, it became obvious that he wouldn’t be able to continue.
The Hyderabad team has struggled to the surprise of many, winning only two of their nine matches so far, even though they boast of some of the biggest names in their line-up, Gilchrist, Styris, Gibbs,Symonds and Vaas.
Adam Gilchrist will now take over the mantle of captaining the side in the remainder matches.
