Selectors to watch the second half of IPL

The national selectors will now get back to work in the second phase of the IPL, as they will be eager to identify names to shortlist before India’s new season begins with a tri-series in Bangladesh.

Many youngsters have made their mark so far in the tournament and it only goes to show that while the talent is there, the players need proper care and nurturing to develop their talent. What the tournament has also showcased is the great bench strength that India can develop over a period of time and identify a pool of players, not only to replace the ageing seniors but also for building a good team for the 2011 world cup to be played in the sub-continent.

The selectors will be keeping an eye on the form and fitness of several players, as the new season begins exactly a week after the IPL final on June 1.
