Its Sachin vs Sourav today

The two titans of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, clash today in a battle, which will go a long way in deciding which all teams qualify for the semi-finals. They have forged one of the most successful opening partnerships in cricket history, but tonite’s match will pit them on opposite sides, as both their teams, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, will look to build momentum towards the semis.

Kolkata have won their last two matches and now due to a high run rate will look to further solidify their position. However their batting will be a problem they will need a quick solution to, which means that either Dada will have to come down the order, or they will need to come up with some other brilliant plan. On the other hand, their bowling now looks real good especially since Shoaib Akhtar established in the last game, that he is very effective in this form of the game.

But it is Mumbai Indians who have the momentum going into this game. They have now won their last four matches and if they win today, then they can really approach the remaining matches with relative ease. If their batting looks solid with Sachin and Sanath at the top, then their bowling is a bit of a worry having conceded almost 70 runs in the last five overs against Chennai.

The highlight of the match will be Sachin taking on Shoaib again, the stage at Wankhede is all set.
