Delhi Dare Devils registered a five wicket win over the Bangalore Royal Challengers to keep their semi-final’s bid alive.
Sehwag won the toss and normal service resumed with the team electing to bowl first as the Royal Challenges tried another opening combination with Kallis and Chipli. However this didn’t pay off either, as Chipli fell cheaply but a fine partnership between S.Goswami and Misbah ul Haq helped them reach a somewhat respectable 158 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Goswami replaced Mark Boucher in this game and affirmed Dravid’s faith by scoring a fine fifty. Misbah scored an important 47 too.
In response, Delhi replied in their customary fashion, with Sehwag and Gambhir putting on a blitzkrieg 90 in only seven runs, when Sehwag was out for 47 off just 19 balls. DareDevils then lost their way a bit as they lost 4 wickets for 33 runs as Dravid’s men tried to fight back, with Kumble scalping two wickets. However, Shikhar Dhawan stood there till the end and saw the team through.
Delhi gained two vital points to move to twelve points while Bangalore slipped deeper to lose their ninth game out of eleven.
