India’s cricket coach Gary Kirsten said that although experience was always needed in a team, the tri-series will be a window of opportunity for the young players who would want to stake a claim as replacements for the old warhorses.
He added that the experience of Sachin Tendulkar would be missed as also in the spin department as it would be spearheaded by the 19-year old leggie Piyush Chawla, but still had high hopes from the team, whom he has reportedly told that T20 is now over, this is a more serious game.
The Indian cricketers leave for Bangladesh on Sunday and take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their series opener on Tuesday, before taking on the hosts on Thursday.
