Virender Sehwag is Man of the Match India halted Pakistan’s unbeaten run here in Dhaka when they beat their arch rivals by a whopping 140 runs in the 2nd ODI of the Kitply cup.

After chosing to bat first, India got off to a tremendous start as they piled on the runs on a double pace pitch as they reached 330 for 8 in their allotted 50 overs. Sehwag and Gambhir put up 155 runs for the opening wicket in 21 overs and the momentum continued from then on. Sehwag got a brisk 89 while Gambhir got 62. Other batsmen also chipped in, as Yuvraj got 55 and later Dhoni & Raina scored quick twenties each. It didn’t help that the Pakistanis bowled 38 extras.

Pakistan started cautiously but the Indian pacemen also restricted them with ease at the same time. Before they could open up, Praveen Kumar took two in two balls and soon after snapped up two more, to end with 4 for 53 overall. The tail was mopped up by Piyush Chawla as he also took four wickets. Only Shoaib Malik tried hard with a fighting half century.

India next play Bangladesh on Thursday.
