Sri Lanka and Bangladesh go head to head in a re-match of their league encounter in the third semis league match of the Asia Cup in Karachi today. The Lankans have already beaten the Bangladeshis comprehensively before in the tournament and have carried two points formward from their group as a result of that victory.
Bangladesh have their backs to the wall and need a win here today if they are to stay alive in the tournament. They produced a gutsy show against the Indians but their fielding let them down, otherwise the ending of that match might have been different. They will need a better all round show to better that effort against the Lankans today.
Sri Lanka though are comfortably placed and a win will guarantee them a spot in the final as they have already beaten Pakistan and have only India to play after this game. They aren’t complaining about back to back matches and will probably rest some of their key players given the sultering heat.
Expect a thrilling match if Bangladesh can get their act right.
