Asia Cup: India vs Pakistan

In a very important match in the semis league, the two arch rivals, India and Pakistan go head to head in a clash which will be nothing less than a semi final. Bangladesh have already been knocked out of the tournament while Sri Lanka have already secured a berth in the final.

This means that there is only one spot left and these two teams will be going hammer and tongs at each other in the match.They have recently renewed their rivalry again and in the last three matches, India have won two and lost one. But that one was the match that actually mattered as Pakistan overcame their problems to shock India in the final of the Kitply cup in Bangladesh.

Talking about their problems, Pakistan have had plenty of them, with their captain fighting for his place in the side with his team-mates and the selectors, the selectors fighting amongst themselves, lack of unity amongst the team members and now the coach of the team bickering with the media over petty issues. Truth is that they haven’t been able to come to grips with the losses they have suffered, and are at their lowest. But this is when they are at their best and come out fighting.

India will have to be wary of the same fact. What goes in their favour is that they already have a cushion of four points and just need to keep their run rate better than Pakistan, who have zero points but two matches in hand. Even then, the Indians who are now completely refreshed with water therpay and two days of rest should play their strongest team and thus would be favourites even before the toss.

With the pitch again expected to be flat, the Indian batsmen will be expected to continue their pristine form while Pakistan will have to counter with their own batting, as bolwers from both sides are expected to suffer.

A cracker of a match is expected.
