India were neckdeep in trouble by the end of the 20th over, having lost four wickets with just 132 runs on board and four top order wickets gone.
This must be one of the days when Team India is missing the experience of Sachin Tendulkar, though not initially. The opening duo of Sehwag and Gambhir got off to a rousing start and the signs looked ominous for the Pakistanis. They added 88 runs in the first ten overs as there was nothing devilish in the wicket and runs were coming at a fast clip.
And suddenly disaster struck as batsman after batsman committed suicide by playing thoughtless shots and got themselves out. Gambhir was the first to go miscuing a drive, Sehwag edged a cheeky shot and Raina mistimed a pull. Only Yuvraj got out to a fantastic catch by the wicket keeper but even then there was no need to play the late cut at this stage as India were trying to rebuild.
Dhoni and Rohit Sharma were at the crease and looking to stitch together a partnership with only the two Pathans to come, who can bat a bit and there are still 30 overs remaining.
