We missed a senior spinner: Dhoni

Feeling the pinch of lack of experience in the side, captain MS Dhoni said that he was disappointed that the team had failed to defend a total in excess of 300 runs.

Although the wicket was flat and lifeless, the bowlers bowled too short and gave away a lot of runs behind the wicket.He also said that the result might have been different had they not lost the four quick wickets after a good start while batting first.

But Dhoni rued the absence of a senior spinner more than anything else. In Harbhajan Singh’s absence, the team has lost a bowler who has a lot of experience of these conditions and thus knows how to bowl aggressively and economically at the same time.

While Dhoni is happy with how Piyush Chawla’s career is shaping up, he did point out that the young leg spinner is short on match experience and was not performing at his best in important matches.
