3 players partied before Asia Cup final

The Indian team had a major final coming up and the fact that they needed to win it to reverse a record of 18 losses in 22 finals didn’t deter three players of the side from going out on the night before the final and party. The team suffered a horrific 100-run loss to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final next day, and now the blame can be squarely put on these three players who had a jolly night out on a beach in Karachi.

India’s batting mainstays in the middle order, vice-captain Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma, who scored 0, 16 and 3 respectively in the match and were sent packing by wily Sri Lankan bowler Ajantha Mendis as India slumped to a big defeat, slipped out of the team hotel in Karachi on Friday to spend the night at French Beach, a popular resort on the shores of Karachi, while the rest of the team stayed put in the hotel to get rest ahead of a gruelling practice session on Saturday.

And all this while several players have themselves complained of exhaustion lately, but the late night partying doesn’t seem to tire them.
