Mendis not the only threat: Dravid

Former India skipper Rahul Dravid has warned that Ajantha Mendis is not the only worry that the Indian team will have to face when they set out to win their first test series in 15 years in the Emerald Island.

Ahead of the first test, Dravid said that the collective experience of Vaas and Murali was just too vast and it would be fool hardy to concentrate on the new spin sensation.

“Sure, Mendis is going to be one of their four or five bowlers, but you cannot just focus on him,” Dravid said. “They have got a couple of other guys (Muralitharan and Vaas) who have got 1000 wickets between them,” he said. “It will be a mistake to focus just on Mendis. We will just play it as we see it. We have come against a lot of bowlers in our times and we have succeeded against them.”
