Jayawardene ton piles on the pressure

Sri Lanka skipper compiled yet another hundred, his ninth at the SSC in Colombo as the host piled on the pressure on the Indians.

Jayawardene was dropped when he was in the nineties off Kumble by Dinesh Karthik, who also dropped him once before. Not to be set back, he completed his ton before the umpires called time on the post lunch session.

Earlier Warnapura was out immediately after lunch off the bowling of Harbhajan Singh and then Samaraweera came at the crease and at tea, he had completed his half ton as well. No other successes were attributed to the Indian bowlers who did make an effort out of it.

Sri Lanka reached 305 for 3 at tea on second day, with Jayawardene on 105 n.o and Samaraweera 51 n.o.
