Leander Paes and his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy prevailed over Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles in the super tie-breaker to breeze into the doubles semi-finals of the $2,615,000 ATP Rogers Masters.

Paes-Dlouhy, seeded seventh pipped fourth seeded Bhupathi-Knowles 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 in one hour and 15 minutes in the quarter-finals of the hard court event.

Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Knowles were playing their first match of the tournament after getting a bye in the first round and a walkover in the second round and obviously the lack of match practice showed as they couldn’t break serve from their opponents.

It is interesting to note that Paes and Bhupathi will be partnering each other at the Olympics and they have just played two tournaments as practice, and that they chose not to play this ATP tournament together, 15 days before the big event in China.
