India’s opening ace Virender Sehwag struck yet another double hundred, the third of his career so far as India folded up for 329 in their first innings on day two of the second test match in Galle.
Sehwag became only the second Indian batsman to carry his bat through out the innings after Sunil Gavaskar as he raced to his double hundred. Such was his audacity that he reverse swept Murali when he was on 199. The others around him did not last long though, but he was supported ably by Laxman’s 39. Kumble also stuck around for a while but could not add more runs as Ajantha Mendis took six for 117 in only his second test match.
India have fallen short of their target of 400 and will now bowl in the second session.
