Sri Lanka was bowled out for 292 in their first innings of the second test match against India at Galle. In reply to India’s 329, the hosts were faltering at the over night score of 215 for 5, which they had just managed to reach thanks to a century plus stand for the second wicket between Sangakkara and Warnapurna.
Captain Mahela Jayawardene waged a lone battle in the middle order as he played a superb innings on a wicket that is beginning to take a lot of turn. Harbhajan Singh snared 6 wickets for 102 runs while Anil Kumble also picked up a brace.
It will be interesting to see how the Indian batsmen tackle this part of the match against the Lankan spinners who will be deployed early especially since the pitch is now taking turn.
