Anil Ambani interested in Newcastle United

Reported by the British weekly newspaper News of the World, Indian business tycoon Anil Ambani is in talks with English Premier League club Newcastle United’s owner Mike Ashley for a reported 260 million pounds (US $ 510 million) takeover. He faces stiff competition from the Singapore-based global investment company Profitable Group who has shown interest for the same amount. Apart from this amount, both intend to spend atleast an additional 100 million pounds in the transfer of players.

Ashley has bought the team last year in June for 130 million pounds and had also cleared the club’s debts of 80 million pounds.

It has been reported that Anil Ambani and Mike Ashley have been discussing the deal for several weeks.
