Dhoni returns for Lanka ODIs

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is back from his award winning rest and will lead India’s 16-man squad for the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.  Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan are back in the side too after their respective hiatuses from the sport, while Yuvraj Singh is back too after missing the bus for the test squad.

Notable omissions are Robin Uthappa who was due this dropping for a lack of form and Yusuf Pathan, who has all to do it again. Ishant Sharma has been rested following non stop cricket since January.

Virat Kohli, the under-19 India captain, gets a maiden call-up to the ODI squad. The majority of the squad will then feature in the Champions Trophy in September. Ishant Sharma will be back and then returning home will be Parthiv Patel and Munaf Patel leaving the 15 man squad for the ICC event.
