AFC Cup Final shifted to Delhi

The Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup final between India and Tajikistan will be staged in New Delhi on August 13 after incessant rains for 3 days left the grounds at Hyderabad unplayable. The final match and third-place play-off between Myanmar and DPR Korea will be played at Ambedkar Stadium, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said on Sunday.

The decision was taken after an AFC delegation visited the national capital this morning to inspect the ground conditions at the Ambedkar Stadium. All India Football Federation general secretary Alberto Colaco accompanied the delegation to New Delhi.

Unsuitable ground conditions due to incessant rains in Hyderabad had forced the AFC to shift the last two matches of the eight-nation tournament to another city. The same match conditions also hampered the semis.
