India@Beijing Olympics 2008: Sania-Sunitha out

Injured Sania Mirza alongwith half-fit Sunitha Rao showed great courage by taking to the court in the women’s doubles tennis match during the second round of Beijing Olympics 2008 where they played the Russian duo of Svetlana Kuznetsova and Dinara Safina.

Although the Indian pair started of very well by taking the first three games, they were outplayed in every department by the Russian duo who came back and won the game 6-4. The Russians beat them in every department and although Sania and Sunitha fought a tough match, the Russians won the match 6-4, 6-4.

Both the Indians have already lost in their singles’ battles and will be returning home shortly.
