India’s One-Day vice-captain Yuvraj Singh is confident that Sri Lankan spin sensation Ajantha Mendis can be tamed.
“Mendis has really bowled well in the Tests and his confidence must be sky-high. Along with Muralitharan, they form a very potent attack but he is not unplayable and we are working on a game-plan to counter him during the One-Day series,” Yuvraj Singh said.
“We will try and play our natural game against him and see how it goes. He does not bowl at 150 kmph so there is no reason to be frightened of him. When Murali was new to international cricket, even he bothered many top batsmen and is still bothering them. But with time, batsmen learn more and adjust to the situations,” added Yuvraj.
“I should say I am ready for the one-day challenge. I have been working hard in the nets. I have also practiced some shots which I hope will help me counter the Lankan spinners,” the stylish left hander said.
It should be noted though that the tall left-hander has never been comfortable against quality spin, so it will be quite interesting as to how he handles the situation.

You guys are only talking about Mendis, but remember there are other spinners and medium fast bowlers there with them. Sanath is also a tough one for ODIs in bowling…
