India wins practice match

Riding high on Yuvraj Singh’s century, India won the only practice match ahead of the five match ODI series against Sri Lanka XI at Colombo.Yuvraj hit 8 fours and 13 sixes in his 172 off 121 balls and was involved in a 40 ball 99 run partnership with MS Dhoni as India piled up 342 for 5 in their 50 overs.

In reply, Sri Lanka XI could manage only 250 for 6 in their allotted overs as the Indian attack also ran up a good performance. The Indian side was nearly at full strength with only Virender Sehwag missing out on the game as he worked hard during the test series. In his place, Virat Kohli played in his place and opened the Indian batting with Gautam Gambhir and scored a useful 23 off 40 balls.

The first match of the five match ODI series is on 18th August.
