Dhoni eyes top spot in ICC Rankings

buy books online

Indian ODI captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will move closer to the top of ICC batting chart if he continues his good form in the five-match series against Sri Lanka starting on Monday.

Dhoni was on top of the batting list for a week in April 2006 and now, is 19 points adrift of table topper South African Graeme Smith in the latest ICC ODI batting list.

Sixth-placed Sachin Tendulkar is likely to lose ground after an elbow injury has sidelined him for the ODI series. A player loses one per cent of his rating for missing every match. Yuvraj Singh (15th) and Gautam Gambhir (19th) are the other India batsmen in the top 20.
