India’s top ranked women paddler Neha Aggarwal failed to advance to the next round after losing to Australia’s Fang Lay in the women’s singles event at the Beijing Olympics.
Fang Lay defeated Neha 4-1 to advance to the next round. Neha won the first game 12-10 but then went on to lose four straight games, 8-11, 11-13, 4-11, 4-11.
Neha sealed her Beijing ticket by winning a South Asian region quota place in the qualifiers after she overcame her more fancied compatriots Poulomi Ghatak and Mouma Das to clinch the Beijing berth.
