India’s leading doubles player Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles cruised into the second round of $708,000 Pilot Pen tennis tournament with a straight-set win in the opening round here.
The second seeded Indo-Bahamian beat the French duo of Marc Gicquel and Nicolas Mahut 6-2, 6-3 in one hour and 14 minutes on Tuesday.
They next play the American-Slovakian pair of James Cerretani and Filip Polasek, who defeated the American pair of Eric Butorac and Scott Lipsky 6-2, 6-4 in their opening match.
