Dhoni praises bowlers and Badri

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni heaped praise on his fast bowlers for their fine show in the three wicket win in the second one-dayer against Sri Lanka but warned that they would have to toil harder in the remaining three games.

“Most of the times we have played in Sri Lanka it is not a bowlers’ paradise especially for the fast bowlers. Full credit to the fast bowlers for coming out with flying colours in tough conditions. They bowled in right areas,” Dhoni said.

“In the last two games seamers got help, but they may not get these conditions in the coming three games. It was turning a bit also. So it was a bit tough when in one end we had a batsman but in other end it was open with the tailenders. Of course it was a concerned area till the match got over,” he said.

Talking about Badrinath, he was all praise for the debutant whose 25 runs saw India home.

The visiting captain praised S Badrinath for holding one end together and carried the team to victory with an unbeaten 27 runs.

“Badri is very talented and that is why he is here. He has performed over the years in domestic circuit and wherever he has gone to. It was good to have him in the side. The first game he was under pressure playing against Murali and Mendis. I think he played them very well today,” he said.
