CAB chief and former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Jagmohan Dalmiya skipped Saturday’s Working Committee meeting of the BCCI before next month’s AGM. The CAB was however represented by Biswarup Dey at the one-day sitting of the BCCI at its headquarters here.
Dalmiya, fighting a court battle with the parent body for alleged embezzlement of 1996 World Cup funds, could now be seen at the AGM next month-end. Dalmiya was arrested on March 26 this year and released on bail for alleged misappropriation of PILCOM (Pak-India-Lanka Committee) funds worth Rs 2.90.
The ex-chief of the International Cricket Council, expelled by the current ruling group in the BCCI in December 2006 from the apex cricket body, had to step down as President of CAB, but after lengthy legal battles he was allowed to contest the elections in July 2007 which he won and made his comeback to cricket administration.
