India vs Sri Lanka, 5th ODI: Preview

buy books online

India and Sri Lanka play their last match for some time to come tomorrow at the Premdasa Stadium in Colombo. The two teams have been at loggerheads since the Asia cup six weeks ago. Since then, Sri Lanka have won the Asia cup and the test series 2-1. However they lost the ODI series 3-1 with one match to spare.

Sri Lanka will like to give the same team another chance at redemption as they would not want to lose 4-1 at home. Thus they are expected to be at full strength and take it as preparation for the ODI tri-series they will play in South Africa, also featuring Pakistan. Vaas, who took his 400th ODI wicket in the last match, might be rested.

India will want to go in for the kill, though they will also want to give some players a chance. Pragyan Ojha, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh and Parthiv Patel might get a look in as Dhoni would like to rest some players and himself to after some good work in the previous matches.

The match begins at 2.30 pm IST.
