No additional warm-up game for Australia

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will not be accommodating another extra warm-up match during the Aussies tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting next month as requested by the Cricket Australia (CA) so that their players get acclimatised better to Indian conditions.

“I have not received any communication from them (Cricket Australia) so far. Even if they request for an additional warm-up match, it will not be possible to adjust now as we have already fixed the Irani Cup just before the first Test, which starts in Bangalore on October nine,” BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said.

“The home series against Australia is going to be a very important series for us as well and we too would like to be fully prepared for the challenge. With this in mind we have lined up a short camp for the players in Bangalore after the five-day Irani Cup match between Ranji Trophy Champions Delhi and the Rest of India match scheduled to be held in Baroda from September 24 to 28. So to squeeze in another warm-up match will not be possible at all.”
