American twins Bob and Mike Bryan won the US Open men’s doubles crown for the second time when they beat Indian-Czech duo Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy 7-6, 7-6 in the final, thus denying Paes to complete a US Open Doubles double.
Paes and Dlouhy had several chances to take the match into a third set but a combination of double faults and sharp volleys from the Bryans thwarted their attempts.
Despite losing this final, Paes enjoyed a successful run at Flushing Meadows which included the mixed doubles crown in partnership with Zimbabwe’s Cara Black.
