Saina in Yonnex Quarters
Saina Nehwal has entered the quarterfinal of Yonex Chinese Taipei Open badminton after easing past Hong Kong’s Kwan Yi Mong 21-8, 21-12 Thursday.
Second seed Saina will now face Porntip Buranaprasertsuk of Thailand, who battled past local challenger Shih Han Huang 20-22, 21-12, 23-21. Saina earlier beat Mingtian Fu of Singapore 21-19 21-19 in the Grand Prix event.
The World No. 14 Indian is playing in her first tournament since making it to the Beijing Olympics quarterfinal.
