Aakash Chopra and Virat Kohli scored heavily against a hapless Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited bowling attack to swing the momentum in Delhi’s favour on Day Three of the Mohammad Nissar Trophy at the Ferozshah Kotla here, but a heavy downpour during the end of the day’s play means any further interruptions could cost them the trophy.
At the end of the day’s play, Delhi were leading the Pakistan champions by a massive 384 runs, but are yet to declare their innings as almost an hour was lost due to rain with 17 overs left to be bowled. Rajat Bhatia (32 not out) and Mayank Tehlan (24 not out) were at the crease as Delhi closed Day Three on 516-4, after Chopra (182) and Kohli (197) both departed with double hundreds in sight.
Delhi must secure an outright victory after having conceded a 132-run first-innings lead, otherwise they will lose the Mohd. Nissar Trophy.
