Former Indian captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth is likely to replace Dilip Vengasarkar as the Chairman of Selectors according to a report as Colonel’s term is set to finish later this year.

The annual general body meeting (AGM) of the Board is due to take place at the Cricket Centre in Mumbai on September 27 and 28. The BCCI has decided to pay an annual honorarium of Rs 25 lakh to each of five selectors of the national selection committee.

With Srikkanth being the frontrunner for the top job, for rest of the four selectors, each zone has nominated their candidates. From the East Zone the Cricket Association of Bengal is set to nominate Sambaran Banerjee while Narendra Hirwani leads the race from Central Zone. Former selector Yashpal Sharma may get a second chance from North while Lalchand Rajput and Yajuvindra Singh are contenders from the West Zone.
