A blazing 127-ball 148 from all-rounder Yusuf Pathan saw India A post a comfortable 81-run victory over New Zealand A in the limited overs tri-series here on Sunday.
Yusuf’s hurricane knock got India out of a soup when they were 66-5 in the 12th over to post 305-8, before disciplined bowling, led by part-time spinner Suresh Raina who took four wickets, got the better of the Kiwis who were bowled out for 224.
The visitors were tied down by the Indian pacers who got early breakthroughs, with only James Marshall with 51 and Peter Fulton with 42 making significant contributions.
Spinners Piyush Chawla and Raina shared six wickets between them to wreck the Kiwi hopes thereafter, as India wrapped up the visitors with 4.2 overs to spare.
