The Australian cricket team, led by Ricky Ponting arrived in India on Monday to play a two-day practice match against Rajasthan Cricket Association’s Centre of Excellence team, prior to the four-Test series commencing at Bangalore on October 9.
The 15-member squad, which was received by RCA officials at Sanganer airport, was immediately taken to the team hotel amidst tight security. The visitors, accompanied by former India coach Greg Chappell, are scheduled to hold practice sessions for three days before the warm up game, starting on September 27.
The cricketers would leave for Hyderabad on September 29, where they will play a four-day practice match.
Earlier in the day, the Australian team arrived in Mumbai but the squad did not come out of the international terminal and were scheduled to take a connecting flight from the domestic terminal to Jaipur. The stay at Jaipur and practice match against Rajasthan Cricket Academy has been arranged by the Rajasthan Cricket Association and not the BCCI.
