Rest of India win Irani Trophy 2008
Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh ran through Delhi’s batting order and completed a 187-run win for Rest of India in the Irani Cup match in Vadodara.
Delhi resumed on 113 for 3 but the collapse started in the second over of the day when Aakash Chopra was bowled by Zaheer Khan for a duck. Gambhir resisted at one end, scoring 91, but Delhi lost seven wickets for 77 runs and were bowled out before lunch on the fourth day.
Harbhajan finished with figures of 4 for 31 and Kumble picked up 3 for 19. The match served as a good work out for the test team players ahead of the ensuing test series against Australia.
