Chandigarh Lions

Chandigarh Lions dominated in the first season of the ICL, especially when the tournament matches were held at Panchkula. They are still a strong unit elsewhere as they possess names such as the charismatic Chris Cairns amongst them. Joining forces with him are Daryl Tuffey, Andrew Hall and Lou Vincent backed by good Indian talents namely the experiencd Dinesh Mongia and the raw TP Singh & Chetan Sharma. The inclusion of the solid opening Australian batsman Mathew Elliott into their team this season is expected to bring consistency to their line up.

Last year, TP Singh and Chris Cairns returned excellent strike rates of more than a hundred with consistency, and both Hall and Tuffey were amongst the wickets with their tight line and length.
The first ICL 20s tournament saw them putting up a stupendous display till they were toppled at the final hurdle by the eventual champions, Chennai Superstars. An inconsistent Edelweiss 20s Challenge saw the Lions narrowly miss a semi-final berth.

They are coached by 1983 world cup-winner Balwinder Sandhu.
