Indian captain Anil Kumble, who is nursing a shoulder injury, will probably miss the second Test starting from October 17 in Mohali.
The team management has confirmed his injury and said that he’s being treated by team physiotherapist Nitin Patel and will take the field as soon as he feels better.
Kumble had demoted himself down the batting order on Day 3 of the Bangalore Test, coming in at number 10 instead of his customary number 8, and did not take the field in the first session on Sunday when Australia came out to bat in the second innings. He could only bowl after the tea session.
