India continued to falter in their chase against Australia in the first test at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
Set a target of 299 to win the match and take a 1-0 series lead, India lost Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid before lunch. After the break, Tendulkar and Gambhir again got together and added 53 for the third wicket before Mitchell Johnson cleared up Gambhir with a fuller slowish off cutter.
Gambhir made 29 off 81 balls and his dismissal brought Laxman to the crease. India needs him to fire and play out atleast this session with Tendulkar if India is to have any hopes of surviving, let alone win the test match.
