Double trap shooter Asher Noria stole the limelight as India consolidated their dominance in the third Commonwealth Youth Games with the sho
oters and wrestlers leading the gold rush on the fourth day on Wednesday.
India added 11 more gold to Tuesday’s seven to lead the medal tally with 35 medals (18 gold, 10 silver, 7 bronze).Propelled by their strong performance in swimming where they picked up seven gold, Australia moved to second spot with 11 gold, five silver and nine bronze.
England slipped from second to third with nine gold, five silver and four bronze medals to their kitty. Canada have two gold, seven silver and four bronze in the fourth spot.
For India, shooting continued to fetch glory with three gold and one bronze in the day. In table tennis, India bagged one gold and one silver. Table tennis is assured to fetch another gold and silver for the country with the men’s doubles final witnessing an all Indian affair.
