The Indian national selectors on Monday retained the same squad for the remaining two Tests against Australia.
The five-member selection committee headed by former captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth met after the fourth day’s play to pick the team for the Delhi and Nagpur Tests and opted to retain the same 15 players who have done duty in the first two Tests.
A press release issued by BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said that leg spinner Amit Mishra will stay back with the team and he will be replaced by another spinner in the Challenger Series to be held in Cuttack.
Mishra, who made a dream Test debut by scalping five wickets in the first innings of the second Test, was originally named in the India Blue team in the Challenger Series to be held from October 23 to 26.
The third Test will begin in New Delhi from October 29 while the fourth and final Test will be played in Nagpur from November 6 to 10.
The Indian squad:
Anil Kumble (captain), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Amit Mishra, RP Singh, S Badrinath, Munaf Patel.
