India v Australia, 2nd Test: India win by 320 runs

India completed a crushing win over Australia by 320 runs in the second test at PCA stadium in Mohali. They have now taken a 1-0 lead after the two test matches have been completed.

Scorecard

Early on the fifth day, the hosts needed just two hours to wrap up proceedings and as a result, registered their biggest margin of victory in terms of runs. Zaheer Khan was on fire as he snapped up Brad Haddin, Cameron White and Brett Lee in the space of 5 balls to put India on track.

Michael Clarke, fighting a lone battle with 69, putting up fifty runs with Mitchell Johnson, before Amit Mishra returned with his leg spin to haunt the Aussies. He took the last two wickets fittingly enough, for he set up the victory on the third day for his team, in only his debut test.

It is worth noting that Dhoni won a second test in his 2nd test as captain, as also the man of the match award.

  1. It is great to see that India have won 2nd Test with a great margin. It also reveals the hidden skills of M.S. Dhoni as a Captain. I hope he will become a great captain in future and would bring great victories to India.
