ICL: Lahore Badshahs beat Mumbai Champs

Imran Nazir’s blazing 38-ball 83 saw the Lahore Badshahs drub the Mumbai Champs by eight wickets with more than six overs to spare in match 16 of the ICL 20s Indian Championship at the Sardar Patel stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

Nazir got the Badshahs chase off to a rollicking start, smashing Michael Kasprowics for 30 runs in the second over. Nazir and Imran Farhat their half century in 15 balls; bettering the record set by Vignesh & Harvey a week before at Hyderabad, off 18 balls against the Dhaka Warriors.

Earlier, Mumbai Champs got off to a steady start with openersTaufeeq Umar and Dheeraj Jhadav putting on 84 for the first wicket. Tahir Mughul finally broke the 84 run partnership with the wicket of Taufeeq Umar who made 41 runs off 42 balls including 5 fours. Jadhav, who scored 57, hit seven boundaries in his workman like knock.

At the 15th over mark, Mumbai Champs were paced at 95/1, setting the platform for an onslaught in the last 5 overs.But the Champs, who were scoring at a tad over six runs per over, could not up the ante, reaching 140 in their allotted 20 overs.
