Lahore Badshahs displayed a clinical all-round performance to beat Chandigarh Lions by a comfortable seven wickets in the ICL20s Indian Championship here at the Tau Devi Lal stadium on Sunday. Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, who scored a brilliant unbeaten half century, apart from taking a wicket was declared the man of the match.
Scorecard – Lahore Badshahs beat Chandigarh Lions, 28th Match – ICL T20 Championship
Opting to bat first, Chandigarh Lions’ dashing southpaw TP Singh got on to the job right away taking forward his good form in the tournament to add 40 runs for the first wicket with his partner Sarabjit Singh. His promising innings of 28 off same number of balls, was however cut short by Rana Naved, who trapped him lbw. And then some tight bowling from Rana Naved and Shahid Nazir pulled back the Lions batting. Graeme Hick, though, held guard in the middle.
Meanwhile, Shahid Nazir also displayed a brilliant spell of pace bowling to end with impressive figures of 1-12 in his four over quota. And as Lahore came up with some brilliant bowing in the crucial middle overs it resulted in the dismissal of star induction into the Chandigarh side — Graeme Hick, who was packed back by the wily Saqlian Mushtaq at his personal score of 14.
