Scorecard – Royal Bengal Tigers beat Chennai Superstars

Chasing a challenging 162, Bengal reached the target with five balls to spare. Marshall was ably supported by Deep Dasgupta as the duo put together 132 runs for the opening stand in just 14.2 overs.

Bengal got off to a steady but slow start with Dasgupta finding it tough to penetrate the field. However, the wicketkeeper-batsman soon joined Marshall in an outstanding show of strokeplay. Dasgupta was finally dismissed for a 46-ball 54. Captain Craig McMillan did not let the momentum slip as he played a cameo, scoring an unbeaten 21 off 15 balls with four hits to the fence.

Earlier, a blazing 90-run stand between Hemang Badani (55) and Rajagopal Sathish (50) lifted the Chennai Superstars to 161. Upul Chandana shined for the Bengal Tigers with figures of four for 38.

The duo who came together at 59-4 in the 10th over brought Chennnai back in the game with a counterattack. Bengal’s part-time bowlers, Mihir Diwakar, Rohan Gavaskar and McMillan, gave away 51 runs in their combined four overs.
