The Delhi Giants beat the Chandigarh Lions 2-0 on a bowl-out after both teams made 200 in a boundary-ridden game 31 of the 2008/9 ICL season in Panchkula, Chandigarh.

Singhs Sarabjit and TP both scored half-centuries as the Chandigarh Lions scored 200 for eight before the Giants’ innings of 200 for four was built around half-centuries from openers Mohnish Mishra and Avishka Gunawardene. The Lions’ innings also witnessed two wickets in two balls for Shane Bond and Chetan Sharma becoming the first man in the ICL to be given out for obstructing the field.

TP made 65 from 31 balls with 11 fours and a six and Sarabjit 60 from 53 balls with four fours and three sixes as the pair put on 98 for the first wicket. Graham Hick weighed in with an explosive 36 from 18 balls before Bond struck to remove both him, clean bowled and Lou Vincent, caught behind first ball.

Chetan Sharma (11) was then adjudged out obstructing the field when he made no attempt to get out of the path of a throw at the stumps which would have seen him run out in the final over. Some late blows from Ishan Malhotra (17 not out) pushed the Lions up to the 200 mark.
