ICL: Lahore Badshahs beat Chennai Superstars

In a super batting display from both sides, that saw more than 400 runs scored in 40 overs, the Lahore Badshahs beat the Chennai Superstars by 13 runs and setting up a repeat match between the two sides in the much anticipated first semi-final on Monday.

After the Lahore top-order powered their team to a massive 211-4, the Superstars put up a brave fight with R Sathish fighting till the last over, blasting an unbeaten 38-ball 76. Ian Harvey (54) was the other hero for the Chennai side as the opener clobbered his fifth ICL fifty. But the climb proved a bit too steep in the end for the Superstars as the daunting asking rate and Rana Navel-ul-Hasan’s four wickets proved big roadblocks in their chase.

Earlier in the evening Stuart Law, won the toss and elected to field and the mighty Lahore Badshahs opened with the world record holders Imran Farhat (67)and Imran Nazir (44) who showed their aggressive intent right away by blasting 76 runs in eight overs.

The most enthralling part of the game was when two masters of the game Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Yousuf displayed a enthralling batting exhibition, putting 64 runs for the fourth wicket. In the end, a clinical batting performance studded with 21 fours & 13 sixes saw the mighty Lahore Badshahs post Chennai Superstars a formidable target of 212.
