India v England, 1st ODI: Yuvraj thrashes England

buy books online

Yuvraj Singh hit a blazing ton in the first match against England at Rajkot to literally bat them out of the game as India piled up a huge 387 for 5 from their allotted fifty overs.

India won the toss and elected to bat first on a beauty of a pitch and a small ground. The setting was perfect as Gambhir and Sehwag stroked fifties in no time as India reached 100 in the 17th over. Both openers fell soon after but Suresh Raina and Yuvi kept the momentum going as the 200 came up in 32 overs.

Raina fell soon after but it was a day that Yuvraj brought out his best. He completed his century of only 64 balls and then added another 38 runs off 14 balls with 16 fours and 6 sixes in a scintillating display of batting. So much so that none of the English bowlers gave below six runs an over.
It will be interesting to see if England can chase down the target or not.
